Aegis Vault is built on a "Zero-Knowledge" architecture. This means:

No Server Storage: Your passwords, notes, or keys are never sent to or stored on our servers.
Local Encryption: All your data is encrypted on your device using the NIST approved AES-256-GCM algorithm.
No Tracking: There are no cookies, tracking codes, or analytics tools in our application or on our website.

About Browser Extension: Our browser extension does not collect, store, or transmit any user data. Its only purpose is to act as a secure communication bridge with the Aegis Vault desktop application.

2. User Responsibility

Your Master Password is the only way to access your data. As the Aegis Vault team, we do not have access to your master password, and if lost, it is technically impossible for us to recover your data.

3. Sharing with Third Parties

We cannot share data we do not have. None of your data is shared with advertisers, government agencies, or third-party companies.

4. Open Source Transparency

Our code is open for everyone to audit on GitHub. You can verify that there are no hidden backdoors.
